Some of these options are less expensive, time consuming and take a lot of elbow grease on your part. I am talking about getting a moving truck or moving container that you would pack, drive, and unpack yourself. If you have some time and need to save the money then doing it this way is a great way to move long distances. If not that you need to get some national movers for your move. What are the best things about these full service national movers?
They do the Heavy Lifting
Save your back, you can pay your movers to do all the heavy lifting, and the furniture taking apart to. You can also buy there boxes and have them pack them for you. Just find out what your national moving company is willing to do for you.
They do the Driving
Have you ever tried to move your entire life in the back of a moving truck that you are driving? If you haven’t let me tell you what you are missing. You get to drive a truck a few times larger than what you normally drive, you get to look for gas stations that can accommodate your trucks size, you get to find other transportation for your personal vehicles, you get to park your rental moving truck in such a way that it cannot be broken into or even stolen.
They can Store Your Things Until you are Ready
If you need time to get all your ducks in a row before you can unpack belongings than many of these moving companies will store your things for you in there warehouse.
Before deciding what overseas moving companies to use you need to consider how much your belongings are worth. Moving overseas can be very expensive. Often if you do the math you will find it is less expensive to not take your things with you and go to yard sales and thrift shops to get what you need instead. In most cases I would say that you should choose the cheapest option to move your belongings from one place to another. In this case choosing the extra expensive full service movers is going to be worth it. When you are moving overseas there are extra things that need to be taken care of. You will have costumes and depending on where you are moving a language barrier to deal with. The paperwork will need to be filled out perfectly or else there will be a really big problem. An international full service moving company will help you jump over all of the hurtles as well as pack up your belongings properly for the journey. I personally don’t think I could handle this all on my own.
Take Just a Few Extra Boxes of the Necessities
Another option is to take as little of your things as possible and just use the post office to send what you absolutely have to have. Pound per pound this is more expensive than hiring movers. But the point is that you aren’t taking that much, so this ends up a lot cheaper.
If you are just taking a few boxes then why not check into companies that ship luggage for people going overseas on vacation. If it is a good way to get luggage there for a week or two then why not for a move.
Don’t forget to also check with your airlines to see how much extra it would be to take additional luggage with you.
Just be very careful to know what you can and cannot transport to that particular country and if there are going to be extra taxes involved. You don’t want start your overseas adventure breaking laws and getting into trouble.
Some times a business needs to move from one location to another and you find yourself needing business movers. Deciding if time or money is more important to you is the best place to start. Once you have that figured out it is time decide what type of business movers you will need. Here are some options. Since large companies would already know exactly how they will move I will be talking about moving small businesses.

If you decided time is more important than money then you should hire professional business movers. This type of mover should understand the needs of businesses and be able to accommodate you well. Be sure to ask around to find out witch ones are the best in your area. Also make sure that they are professional and organized when you make your reservations. As you well know, if your first impression of the company isn’t good than there is a really good chance your entire experience isn’t going to be good either.
Use Your Staff
Do you have some sort of staff? If so you can offer to pay them extra to move the business or you can have them move during there working hours. You know what your staff is capable of so only you will know if using them for your move is a good idea.
Hire Individuals
Have you heard that unemployment is up? Finding individuals to hire for your business move should not be a problem and you could save some money to. Try employment agencies, friends, family, friends and family of your staff, or even your local Boy Scout troop.

According to the new there are tons of people out there that have been laid off, downsizes, or had there work hours cut recently. I am sure you know someone that needs to earn some money, but be prepared to be in charge of the job yourself if you can’t find someone with experience. Hiring someone that does not do this sort of work for a living for a day or two is less expensive then paying professionals.
Hire a Few Collage Students
Like the last option hiring people that don’t necessarily do removals for a living tend to be less expensive. Who knows, if you find some great people to work with then maybe you could start a removal company yourself.
What is the largest and heaviest of our belongings that we all must move when moving from one place to another? Yip, you guessed it. Furniture is heavy bulky and can be down right impossible to get through door ways and up tricky flights of stairs. If you want to have a much easier move and you also want to save a bit of money then you can hire people to do your furniture move while you box up and move everything else. If you have a lot of heavy furniture or live in a high-rise building then get professionals for your furniture move is going to be worth it. Whether you take my advice or not here are a few things to keep in mind before you move your furniture.
Plan Ahead
You got that furniture into the place you live so you know what it is going to take to get it out, but you need to consider the difficulties of getting that same furniture into your new place. Doorways might be a bit smaller, ceilings lower, corners and stairs could even be trickier. Take your furniture apart as much as possible so that you won’t have trouble getting it into its new home.
Hire Help
I still strongly recommend hiring help moving your furniture. If you do take this advice than you will need to book movers ahead of time. Keep in mind time of year will directly effect how hard it is going to be to get your desired dates for your move. Unless you all ready know some good furniture movers then you will need time to get some good references from friends or do some research to know which of your local movers will be the best.
Have Proper Equipment
If you plan on moving your own furniture then make sure you have the best equipment on hand to make the move easier. You don’t want to hurt yourself and you certainly don’t want to have to run out on moving day to find what you need. Consider getting moving blankets, a heavy duty hand truck, and traps. Also don’t forget to get a rental tuck.
Piano really do need to be moved the right way. Unless you know everything there is to know about moving a piano then don’t attempt it yourself. In fact if you do no everything there is to know about pianos then you probably wouldn’t want to move such a delicate and heavy instrument yourself. I know it seems obvious, but you could start by looking in the yellow pages. There are plenty of moving firms that specialize in moving complicated things like pianos. Call some of those numbers and ask lots of questions you should get a good feel if they know what they are talking about or not. Of coerce it would be better if you knew they were good at moving pianos. If you don’t personally know someone that has recently had a piano moved and it worked out great then you really don’t know what this moving company is going to be like.
Piano Sellers
If you want a company that moves a lot of pianos and does a great job then call the stores that move the pianos for them. These stores wouldn’t use people that are not going to move it the right way. If they won’t tell you who they use then call the next one on the list, someone will talk to you. If they have there pianos moved in house then maybe they will let you pay them to move your piano. You never know until you ask.
Trying to move across town or across the country, but worried about trashing the planet? Now that’s one less thing you have to worry about. There are a number of things that you can do yourself, and there are companies out there that can move your stuff, but not make a mess of the environment. Using innovative ideas and products, these companies are trying to be eco-friendly while moving your belongings.
There are creative ways to save you some money and protect the environment. One great way to lower your impact is by not buying new boxes for your move, but going to local businesses and seeing if you can take or even buy some of their boxes. Most businesses are pretty good about this; you just might have to go to several places because employees usually get first dibs for when they move. You might even be able to find a company that sells used boxes and can have them shipped to you for pretty cheap, especially compared to how much new boxes cost.
For packing material try using old newspapers or even clothes or socks or whatever to pack stuff that needs to be protected. Again you can find companies that make use of recycled materials for packing to replace packing peanuts and other non-biodegradable material that just ends up in a land fill.
Just do a quick search on the internet under using keywords like eco-friendly, or green moving services.
You can even find information on how to make your move as green as possible even if there is not a green moving company in your area. You might also have luck looking on websites that have links for green services, such as sites that deal with low-impact living, green living, or anything other words or phrases you can think of that are related to saving the environment. Just use common sense and you should save money and the earth at the same time.

Moving can be so stressful, there are so many things to do and keep track of. When it comes time to move I always with I could be a minimalist. That way there would not nearly be as much to move. Most of us are not minimalists so deciding exactly how to move all of our belongings is a must.

The yellow pages are an excellent place to start your search for a moving company. If you are moving a long distance then it would be a good idea to start with the larger adds. These large ads are the companies that are big and will have more locations nation wide. Call a few of them to get a quote to compare. Don’t be afraid to call a few of the companies from the smaller ads as well.
Word of Mouth tells a lot About Moving Companies
Try to remember everything you have heard from friends and family about there experiences with the moving companies that they have used. Sometimes there problems are not the norm for the company, but how the moving company handled the problem is what is important. Their customer service is going to affect you whether have a problem or not. If you call can you get through to a person? Can that person answer your questions?
Search Engines are Full of Moving Companies
If you are like me you don’t even bother looking at or even keeping your yellow pages. Search engines are truly full of moving companies. Three hundred and fifty seven million to be exact. How do you even start to find a good one? Again, start with the big ones. Try ones that you have heard of before. You might be able to get a good deal from a less known company, but check them out with the Better Business Bureau first.
